Sabrina Brodkin, M.Ed., M.A. (she/her)

Doctoral Associate

Sabrina Brodkin is a Doctoral Practicum student at Step Stone Psychology providing both treatment and assessment services to children, youth, and emerging adults, as well as supporting parents and families.

Sabrina is currently completing her doctoral degree in School Clinical Child Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Sabrina has completed a Masters of Education in Developmental Psychology & Education, as well as a Masters in School and Clinical Child Psychology. Sabrina’s PhD research is focusing on understanding the bi-directional influence of dysregulated emotion within a sample of children who have elevated levels of externalizing challenges and their parents, who themselves have high rates of mental health concerns.

Sabrina has worked and trained in various mental health and educational settings, including the University of Toronto/OISE Psychology Clinic, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), the Toronto District School Board and in private practice. She has obtained a wide range of experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments for a range of concerns including cognitive and learning challenges, attention challenges (i.e., ADHD), ASD, anxiety, and depression. Sabrina is integrative in her psychotherapy approach. She has worked in various settings utilizing evidence-based techniques from to support children and youth experiencing a range of concerns (e.g., selective mutism, anxiety, emotion and behaviour regulation challenges)) to better understand themselves, lead happy lives, and achieve their goals. Sabrina has worked therapeutically with parents and caregivers, helping them obtain the skills they need to allow their child to thrive. Additionally, Sabrina has experience working collaboratively with parents/caregivers and external professionals, such as school staff, to create a supportive network that enhances the well-being of each child.

Sabrina prioritizes fostering a warm and welcoming therapeutic environment and takes a strengths-based, client-centred approach to care, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs and goals of every individual she works with.
