Martina Faitakis, M.Sc., M.A. (she/her)

Doctoral Practicum Student

Martina Faitakis is a Doctoral Practicum Student at Step Stone Psychology and is completing her Ph.D. in Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology (CCAP) at the University of Guelph. She previously completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Forensic Psychology at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and a Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology. Her research focuses on understanding the needs of people who have fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) in criminal legal settings.

Martina has received clinical training from the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRSDB), the Maplewoods Centre for Family Therapy and Child Psychology, and Syl Apps Youth Centre (SAYC) of Kinark Child and Family Services, where she worked with youth and adolescents in a secure treatment setting. At Step Stone Psychology, Martina provides assessment and intervention services for youth, adolescents and emerging adults. She takes an integrative, attachment-focused approach, and draws upon multiple modalities to best meet the needs of her clients. Above all, Martina prioritizes creating a warm, safe, and supportive environment for her clients that emphasizes their strengths and resilience. She aims to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Martina is also a member of Step Stone’s Forensic Psychology Service, providing assessment and treatment for youth and young adults who have experienced criminal legal-system contact.
