Marlee Salisbury (she/her)

Doctoral Associate

Marlee Salisbury is currently completing her PhD in Clinical-Developmental Psychology at York University. She specializes in supporting children, youth, and their families with challenges related to emotion dysregulation, early trauma and attachment disruptions, and parenting stress and related challenges. She also works with adolescents and adults who have experienced a history of distressing or traumatic events that have had a lasting impact on their mental health, relationships, and identity. Marlee supports individuals managing various other challenges including anxiety, depression, learning and attention difficulties (e.g., ADHD), behavioural issues, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and self-esteem issues. She has received clinical training at The Traumatology Institute, Trauma Practice for Healthy Communities, The York University Psychology Clinic, and in private practice. She uses a range of clinical modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Family System Therapy.

As a Doctoral Associate at Step Stone Psychology, Marlee provides comprehensive assessments and intervention services to children, youth, parents, and adults. She brings an authentic, warm, and inclusive approach to her work so that clients can collaboratively work through their therapeutic goals in a safe and supportive environment. Marlee integrates various therapeutic approaches, tailoring interventions to suit each client’s unique needs and goals. Working from an evidenced-based perspective, Marlee aims to support clients in navigating challenges while also promoting self-growth, resilience, and a strong sense of identity.
