Psychologist in Supervised Practice

Dr. Mary Ritchie is a Psychologist in supervised practice registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) for practice in clinical psychology with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as forensic psychology with children and adolescents. She is currently completing part of her Supervised Practice year with supervision from Dr. Nina Vitopoulos at Step Stone Psychology..

Mary obtained her Honours Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Carleton university, and her Doctoral degree from the CPA-accredited clinical psychology program at Western University. She completed her residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), providing services in the Youth Justice Assessment Clinic and the Better Behaviours Service. Mary also completed additional clinical practica in in community, inpatient, and outpatient settings including the Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI), London Family Court Clinic/NavON, Southwest Centre for Forensic Mental Health Care, Victoria Hospital and Children's Hospital, and London Health Sciences Centre.

At Step Stone, Mary is a member of the Forensic Youth Psychology Service, providing assessment and intervention services to youth and young adults involved or at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system. She has developed strong assessment and intervention skills in the areas of learning, attention and executive functioning, emotional and behavioural dysregulation, mood and anxiety, trauma, as well as complex mental health and neurodevelopmental concerns. Regarding intervention, Mary provides services using techniques including cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour, and acceptance and commitment therapy. She strives to customize her approach to each client's unique needs and concerns, while nurturing a warm, empathic, attentive, and non-judgemental space where individuals feel truly heard and supported.
