Psychologist (Supervised Practice)
Dr. Valbona (Val) Semovski is a compassionate clinical and school psychologist (supervised practice) who works with children, adolescents, emerging adults, and parents. She earned her Ph.D. in the School and Applied Child Psychology program at the University of Western Ontario, where she received extensive training as both a clinician and researcher. Her published work focuses on child and adolescent mental health outcomes and the broader mental health care system. Drawing from her scientific background, Val integrates evidence-based practices into her work to offer care that is not only effective but also personalized and meaningful. She has supported clients across a variety of settings, including hospitals, community mental health centres, family crisis services, and the Toronto District School Board.
At Step Stone Psychology, Val provides therapy using an integrative approach informed by several evidence-based modalities, including emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural/dialectical behavioural therapy, and attachment-based approaches. She also conducts psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments for a wide range of concerns, including learning challenges, attention and executive functioning difficulties, mood and anxiety concerns, and complex mental health presentations.
